Phillipa started her studies at RMIT in Melbourne, completing a BA in Fine Art, majoring in Contemporary Jewellery. She was awarded an Arts Grant to help fund her studies.

Phillipa works in a variety of materials, and is inspired by nature and man-made patterns. “I’m always looking at things from the point of view of making jewellery. E.g. river stones, a tangled pile of audio tape, and a wrought iron gate have all given me ideas for jewellery.”

She bought QUOIL Gallery in Wellington in 2007, and is now following her other passion; promoting contemporary jewellers and their work.

Phillipa completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Art at Whitireia NZ in 2015.
